Example Contract

A couple of years ago I did a website project for a friend. It was a pretty straight-forward information/marketing type website. To calculate what I charged, I researched salaries for web designers and web developers in the bay area. I found that entry-level salaries were around $40,000-$50,000/yr. So I chose $25 as my rate ($25 x 40hrs x 50wks = $50,000 a year). I thought it would take about 40 hours to complete the project. It actually took about 4 or 5 times that amount of time, but I was still pretty new to HTML/CSS and design. I found some example contracts out on the web, and used those as a guide for writing my own contract.
